I would like to find more information about my grandfather. His mother's name was Lydia Morris and his father's name was George.Frank or Frank George According to the birth certificate was a captain, vessel unknown. The mother Lydia signed with an x, so we are thinking that she worked either in a pub or in a large house as a maid.I have found her name in the 1871 census living in the Mardol area of Shrewsbury,West Midlands UK. I also beleive she attended St Chads Church.
According to our investigation, Archie Morris was adopted and lived in Shrewsbury from about 1881, with the family named Jones who ran a grocery store. If anybody could give us information on adoptions in that time frame,I would be interested in tryingto trace any record that there may be. | MORRIS, Archibald (I3)
